The role

As a Product Marketing Manager in our Product Marketing team, you will communicate the value of Zip’s new financial services products and features to new and existing customers. You’ll be working across multiple business units and working closely with Product, Marketing, Data, Business and Customer Success to communicate at the right time, to the right audience, in the right place, with the right message to drive adoption and usage of Zips products and features.

The role will be 80% execution, and 20% strategy and reporting. You will be responsible for campaign/product initiatives delivery and reporting to ensure we are continuously improving the efficiency and effectiveness of Product Marketing

The role sits in Marketing, however will support key product squads (core product, acquisition, engagement, bills, gift cards etc) and manage the Product Marketing for new and existing features and products that have significant consumer and merchant impact. Day to day you will work as a member of the Product squads you are supporting.

In this role you will:

  • Product & feature positioning
  • Tell the story of the product, define benefits to customers, point of difference in market and value to the business. Ensure these are communicated effectively and with consistency via product/commercial/customer care etc. Develop positioning based on market research and deep understanding of the product. Coordinate testing and iterationEnsure success criteria is defined and take a data driven approach to analysing results.
  • Launch/go-to-market/growth strategy and implementation
  • Cross-functional project management and implementation of the launch/growth planDevelop strategies and manage initiatives to drive adoption & usage of the product. Develop the strategy for communicating new features and products to the customer. Create and execute the channel plan across Paid, Owned and Earned – ensuring all comms are on brand, compliant, optimised for conversion (with all UX flows considered).Understand potential risks and failure points. Ensure contingency & roll back plans are in place. Create reusable tools, formulas, checklists and templates. Develop ongoing/always on strategies as appropriate for each product or featureDefining ‘done’ from product marketing perspective – e.g./ which projects require long tail campaigns.
  • Product Comprehension
  • Beyond product awareness, partner with Product to deliver ongoing Product Education across products and features. This will evolve A/B testing the effectiveness of content across relevant channels, triggers and customer cohorts.
  • Change management
  • Take a holistic view of change within the company and for customers. Work with Marketing peers to integrate Product comms with Marketing campaigns. Keep track of which customer cohorts are being communicated to, when and how often, to retain maximum effectiveness of comms. Make recommendations to the business on timings & prioritisation of new features & change where appropriate.
  • Enablement
  • Ensure all teams have the material they need to support the selling and servicing processes.
  • This includes ensuring the teams are armed with both solid value propositions and product knowledge.
  • Updating existing documentation such as sales tools & product educationCoordinate creation of new product content e.g.how to guides/videos etc where appropriate. Ensure regulatory compliance and legal sign-off of all materials developed

  • 3+ years of Campaign or Product Marketing experience with tertiary qualifications
  • Strong analytical skills with a strong attention to detail, clarity and accuracy
  • A curious mind
  • A strong desire to execute, drive impact, deliver with excellence and demonstrate urgency
  • Ability to prioritise and work in a fast paced environment with changing priorities
  • Strong stakeholder management, project management and communication skills
  • Experience with customer segmentation and targeting principles 
  • A data-driven and customer centric approach to problem solving
  • Experience in delivering product/feature led campaigns and educational content to customers
