The PayPal Credit team is looking for a high-performing professional to develop the next generation of frameworks and strategies for Risk Policy actions.Job Description:

As Credit Risk Strategy Manager you will be responsible for working with our bank partner to conceive, design & monitor credit risk management strategies to improve business profitability in the areas of underwriting, credit line management, universe expansion and alternative data evaluation for Consumer Lending.

This is a highly visible role in our Credit Team where you would:

  • Analyze customer level information to determine the effectiveness of credit policies and recommend necessary changes to improve profitability.
  • Find innovative ways to use data and processes to improve risk management strategies and the customer experience.
  • Analyze portfolio trends to deliver strategic business insight from internal and external data.
  • Identify business solutions and optimisation through various statistical and quantitative methods.
  • Derive insights from data and communicate those insights to a non-technical audience through presentations and documentation.  The goal is to propose concise and actionable business strategies from vast amounts of data for Sr. Management, both internal and external.
  • Present new strategy recommendations for management approval.
  • Use data and communications skills to persuade internal and external business partners to adopt proposed strategies.

Requirements to see success:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Finance, Economics or related quantitative discipline.
  • 5+ years post tertiary working experience within a data-mining, quantitative research or analytics organization.
  • Credit risk experience is a must.
  • Must be an intuitive, organized analytical thinker, with the ability to perform detailed analysis.
  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal skills a must including the ability to explain and/or present analysis.
  • Must have good business judgment with demonstrated ability to think creatively and strategically.
  • Aptitude and willingness to roll-up the sleeves and get involved in the details.
  • A high level of proficiency with programming languages used in data science, including Python and SQL.
  • Proficiency in dealing with large datasets (data mining etc.)
  • Excel, Word, and PowerPoint proficiency.

Nice to haves:

  • Experience with visualisation and dashboarding software (Tableau, Power BI).
  • Proficiency with Hadoop, Spark, or other big data platforms.
