Get to know our Team:

The Grab Financial Group (GFG) Strategy and Planning team is a regional team that assists in the development of the business' long term objectives, setting its course, defining and managing performance metrics. The team works on specific strategic projects that are regional in nature, well as drives key planning and organisational milestones. By assessing a broad range of trends and issues that span across markets, customer, competitor, regulatory and technology insights, the team develops winning strategies that will have a significant impact on the company’s growth.

Get to know the Role:

  • Independently lead strategy projects at the GFG level
  • Collaborate with other GFG leaders as a thought partner 
  • Serve as a leader and mentor to more junior team members
  • Drive key planning and organisational milestones
  • Influence a high-performance company culture by challenging critical business assumptions and encouraging cross-functional collaboration 


The day-to-day activities:

  • Develop and/ or update GFG’s strategies on a periodic cadence, including identifying and prioritising major cross-vertical initiatives by synthesising Internal business performance and competencies, and External trends (market, customer, competitor, regulatory, technological etc)
  • Lead cross-vertical, cross-regional GFG strategy related projects
  • Lead regular planning and budgeting exercises across GFG
  • Provide inputs and advise the Head of GFG and GFG management team on key issues (e.g. strategic initiatives, BU-level plans and major investments) based on clear issue framing and rigorous analyses 
  • Support GFG Country Heads and Country Strategy Leads on country level strategy and facilitate cross-pollination of best practice and approaches
  • Lead due-diligence on M&A/partnership opportunities and provide recommendation, working closely with corporate finance
  • Become as trusted advisor to GFG senior management
  • Ability to roll up sleeves to get the job done when necessary
  • Support the communication of GFG’s vision & strategy to stakeholders and support translation into operational reality via various channels 
  • Support board & executive level communications
  • Advocate focus on achieving sustainable growth by working with vertical leads to design and refine pricing and incentives schemes

The must haves:

  • At least 5 years of top tier strategy/ management consulting experience or corporate strategy/ planning experience in a project manager capacity
  • At least 2 years of Fintech experience
  • Overall 8-10 years of work experience 
  • Startup or entrepreneurial experience is an advantage
  • Financial services experience is an advantage
  • Strong written and verbal presentation skills including on powerpoint, suited for senior executives
  • Highly comfortable in an semi-structured environment and organisation that changes frequently
  • A self-starter and independent learner who takes the initiative to challenge the status quo 
  • Ability to perform under pressure in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
