Forgot what you know about big banks, At Tyro we do digital banking for Businesses. The Business Banking team is responsible for design and development of business banking products for Tyro customers. We collaborate, design and create digital banking products by constantly improving our current digital capability.

The primary role of the Banking Product Owner at Tyro is to be the bridge between key business stakeholders and an Agile development team, managing the value delivered by the teams and ensuring that it aligns with the overall Banking strategy. You'll be a part of a team that loves the work they do and who enjoy working together. They're passionate about their work, and they're passionate about motivating each other to do great things. The Product Owner is accountable for getting the team to develop the right thing, while the team is accountable for developing it the right way.

The Product Owner will be required to work in an Agile team to support the delivery of a high-value, high-quality products and features, enabling Banking to achieve its planned business outcomes. The Product Owner will work closely with the engineering teams, the product manager and the Head of Banking as well as other internal and external stakeholders.

This role is for individuals who have knowledge and skills that will bring an ability to strategise, articulate a clear vision as well as strong problem solving and analytical skills. You will have excellent relationship building and communication skills, along with and the desire and ability to learn across disciplines in Banking.

Responsibilities

  • Be the owner for product delivery to drive by the product strategy, roadmap, and backlog.
  • Collaborate closely with a cross functional team of Designers, Architects, Engineers, and other experts
  • Refine and write user stories, provide guidance to the Engineering teams on user behaviour and to enhance user experience.
  • Help drive development, identify areas for improvement through data analysis, process mapping, investigations, resolving production issues and promote continuous improvement to enable us to achieve our strategic goals.
  • Helping the team with ensuring the quality of work being delivered is upheld
  • Champion exceptional customer experiences and prioritise outstanding design
  • Participate in design processes to uncover the needs and motivations of our customers
  • Prioritise features and stories to maximise customer and business value
  • Manage stakeholders by understanding their needs and expectations, and communicating effectively with them

Skills & Experience

  • 1-2+ years' experience in Product Owner Role, in a collaborative team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills or Prior experience in a Business Analyst role
  • Deposits / Banking experience favourable but not essential
