About The Team

Stripe’s mission is to increase the GDP of the internet: we build economic infrastructure for internet businesses of every size in pursuit of this mission. The Partnership Strategic Operations (PSO) team is responsible for GPTN partner implementations and ensures the efficiency and reliability of new and existing partners through scaled programs and optimized partner interfaces. We also ensure the long-term health, and scalability of our partners, and we work across the payment method, card, and bank partners that underpin Stripe’s financial stack. Today, Stripe is live in 42+ markets and the PSO team is situated across multiple global offices to support Stripe’s growth around the world.

What you’ll do

The Partnership Strategic Operations team sits within Stripe’s Global Partnerships organization and is a key component of Stripe’s success. We operate at the intersection of engineers and financial partners, serving as the fabric that ensures close and smooth collaboration between these parties, both of which are crucial to Stripe’s continued, rapid growth. We wear a lot of hats. On any given day, you can find us; driving alignment and coordination between engineering teams and financial partners on critical operational activities; identifying and investigating insights and trends from our data to inform decisions for streamlining the day-to-day management of our business; and building new tools and processes to scale our team’s impact. The partners we support have a significant impact on Stripe, and the products used by millions of our global users.


  • Work cross-functionally with a number of regional and global Stripe teams to drive new integrations with Stripe’s financial partners in Japan and APAC which serve as the foundation of our payments stack
  • Be responsible for building and owning relationships across key financial partners across Japan and APAC
  • Hold Stripe’s financial partners and internal stakeholders accountable for performance and contractual commitments
  • Identify inefficiencies in Stripe’s operating model, and design new solutions (including technical and operational requirements) to address them
  • Identify, scope, and drive process improvements and partner-facing optimizations across your areas of ownership.
  • Develop and manage end-to-end project plans and ensure on-time delivery

Minimum Requirements

  • 4+ years of project/program management and/or business operations experience
  • Proven track record of being able to successfully delivery medium- to large-sized technical projects with external partners and cross-functional internal stakeholders
  • Knowledge of and experience of payment technologies and the ecosystem within Japan
  • Strong analytical skills with excellent problem solving abilities
  • Experience managing external relationships
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • The ability to prioritize and remain focused under pressure, and comfortable with ambiguity
  • The willingness to travel, when necessary
  • Fluent in both business Japanese and English

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the Japanese payments ecosystem
  • Basic to intermediate SQL skill
  • Experience in a high growth technology company
