Consultant, Data Scientist

About The Team

  • The team provides analytical analysis for a variety of MasterCard products and internal teams and ad-hoc research to explain anomalous events.
  • Partner with product, technical, and support teams to identify the key measures needed to accurately depict the health of a product or process, and indicate areas for improvement.
  • Identify the source data to be reported, determine the appropriate method for managing the data, and leverage analytical skills to transform data into consumable and actionable information.

About The Role

  • Develop data flow diagrams for MasterCard products based on interviews with key stakeholders.
  • Develop SQL queries to extract and transform the data.
  • Translate data flow diagrams into metrics and measures to identify pain points leading to improved product performance or enhanced customer experience.
  • Identify key themes and correlations in the data, and summarize for Executive Management consumption.
  • Work with data from multiple sources in multiple formats to develop repeatable processes to support analysis.
  • Develop methods to allow for self-service, ad-hoc, and enterprise level reporting in working with the Data Warehouse.
  • Liaise with the SLA (Service Level Agreement) team to capture and consolidate data associated with, and report on contractual commitments relating to the performance of MasterCard products.
  • Identify gaps in MasterCard data, and influence process changes to ensure accurate and complete reporting can be delivered both internally and externally.

All About You

  • Prior Analytic or Reporting experience preferred.
  • Strong SQL skills required.
  • Knowledge of MasterCard, MasterCard Payments systems or the payments industry preferred.
  • Must be able to work independently and navigate various levels of management.
  • Strong PC skills required, and working knowledge of Enterprise Reporting Tools preferred.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
