Team Summary

Job Description

This position has the shared responsibility for the Merchant Sales & Acquiring (MS&A) strategy and its implementation, as well as the growth and development of meaningful and profitable merchant, merchant acquirer and payment intermediary relations for Visa in Taiwan.

What a Director does at Visa:

  • Be responsible for the account management and business development of the assigned acquiring and merchant accounts.
  • Develop key account strategic plan, identify, sell-in and execute business opportunities and initiatives to drive achieve overall Visa Taiwan and Greater China business target.
  • Establish and maintain positive, beneficial, and constructive relationships with key acquiring and merchant stakeholders and influence client preference for Visa through provision of valuable business solutions through Visa capabilities
  • Demonstrates deep and extensive acquiring industry knowledge and positive attitude in looking for opportunities for Visa to exceed organizational performance expectations.
  • Deliver financial objectives including net revenue, payment volume and other targets through business deals, Visa assets, products, and marketing promotion.
  • Work seamlessly across functions and geographies and adds value to other business areas in response to opportunities with partners or the broader community.

Driving Visa Acceptance penetration in Taiwan, in both face to face and online environment, is the forefront of the way in which we make the future of payments a reality. In addition, as the market evolves, the role of merchant partners have also advanced to play a pivotal role in Visa’s overall Network of Network strategy. To this end, as part of the MS&A team, this role is critical to drive the growth and innovation agenda within Visa to continuously grow merchant sales volume.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office two days a week, Tuesdays and Wednesdays with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% of the time based on business needs.

Essential basics

  • University Graduate
  • 10+ years sales experience including multi-regional sales operations, and leading teams
  • Outstanding communication skills - English (oral and written). Fluency in regional language preferable

Industry experience

  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience working in the payments industry
  • Experience in driving merchant, acquiring, or payment solutions within the Asia Pacific region preferred
  • Demonstrable leadership skills and business vision, with proven capability to work with teams across geographies and functions
  • Experience in developing and tracking client-centric strategies within a complex multinational, matrixed organizations

  • Taiwan merchant acceptance strategy (including digital payment solutions) and implementation

  • New business pitches, presentations and business reviews pertaining to the acceptance business in Taiwan
