Job Description

The SMT marketing team is a passionate and dedicated team with a high-performance culture to drive B2B2C marketing and accelerate business growth across Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand (SMT). The Head of Marketing for SMT is accountable for the strategic management of the Brand as well as the engagement with clients to develop and implement co-marketing and customer experience initiatives that support the growth of our business and brand health in the market.

What a Head of Marketing, SMT does at Visa:

You will work as a key member of the SMT Leadership Team to accelerate business growth, with a P&L mindset focused on optimizing team performance, increasing return on marketing investment and identifying opportunities to work with our clients to utilise partnership incentives for the benefit of both parties. You will drive customer centricity within the organization by understanding the evolving payment ecosystem, the needs of our clients and those of their customers. You will lead the team to not only deliver B2B and B2C campaigns, programs and activities, but also act as a marketing advisory consultancy to deliver value-added services to our clients and partners. In the Marketing value-added service capacity, you will have top line and bottom-line accountability in addition to program KPIs.

You will also be a key member of the AP Marketing Leadership team and will need to consistently drive our brand purpose in SMT, leveraging the brand as an asset to accelerate our business revenue, through and with our key clients. In addition, you will be working with AP Hub marketing team as Center of Excellence support on insights, KPIs, data, tech, creative and value-added services.

You will have a dual reporting line to both the Head of Marketing for AP, as well as the SMT Group Country Manager. You will work closely with other cross functional cluster leads of SMT to scale strategies across all three markets. You will be working with and overseeing the local marketing teams in each of the 3 SMT markets, with their reporting line directly into this role.

  • Lead Visa’s strategic brand evolution efforts across SMT and align with the company’s business and global brand strategy.
  • Leadership and management of the SMT marketing team with team members based in Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia, including talent recruitment and development.
  • Develop marketing strategies for SMT that support the achievement of business growth and brand health objectives, focusing on key initiatives that are aligned to Visa’s strategic initiatives and support the achievement of business priorities and revenue growth targets.
  • Continue to evolve digital adoption and usage, build team capability, and seek opportunities to co-create with agencies, internal stakeholders and external partners
  • Drive the strategic usage of client's incentives to develop joint-marketing campaigns to increase client's and Visa transactions.
  • Management of the SMT marketing budget, including the coordination and management of clients' incentive budgets focused on marketing.
  • Evaluation of marketing strategies and campaigns against agreed business and brand objectives, maximise return of investment from marketing activities through the optimization of marketing budget allocation by market, by activity and by media channel.
  • Management of all marketing agency relationships (creative, media, social, digital) across SMT.
  • Ensure full compliance with global brand identity, audit and compliance requirements.
  • Provide internal marketing support and informal consultancy to Visa clients on all aspects of payment and consumer marketing.
  • Work extensively with cross-functional SMT heads to define key client business objectives and priorities to provide thought leadership, develop / deliver insightful and impactful marketing strategies as part of the Visa 360 offering.
  • Provide tailored marketing strategy and activation input to client RFPs.
  • Drive engagement with clients and non-FI partners, provide marketing strategy through to activation including optimal use of Visa capabilities and assets, manage approach, sell-in and project management activities (contracting, brand approvals, documentation) to drive and deliver new revenue streams aligned with business objectives.
  • Lead engagement with new partners (Government, B2B/SME, Fintech) to evaluate opportunities for Marketing to drive new revenue streams aligned with business growth objectives.
  • Establish a high touch key client engagement model aligned with each market’s strategy/operating model and individual client’s needs
  • Work with internal stakeholders (primarily country manager, product, consulting, analytics) to develop a deeper, whole of market understanding of consumer needs across the full consumer lifecycle.
  • Provide rich, insightful data and analytical capabilities to internal stakeholders and clients.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office two days a week, Tuesdays and Wednesdays with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

What you will need:

  • A minimum of 15 to 20 years’ experience in Financial Services sector, Technology / Fintech sector and / or consumer sector
  • Possesses strong business acumen and management skills.
  • Commercially minded – good with financials, numbers and forecasting.
  • Strategic, consultative and client centric.
  • Able to develop strategic narratives that commercializes ideas.
  • Demonstrated capabilities in client engagement at C-level – communication, presence, and thought leadership
  • Articulate about value propositions to internal and external stakeholders of various levels and abilities, including senior executives.
  • Proven experience in managing complex, cross-functional projects across internal and external organizations
  • Strong project/program management skills to successfully manage multiple, concurrent work streams
  • Demonstrated capabilities in client engagement at C-level – communication, presence, and thought leadership
  • Able to connect the dots between strategy, product and client executive/relationship teams.

You would thrive and excel in ideating impactful brand campaigns for Visa but also be able to work with key clients on delivering revenue and business metrics through innovative and performance led initiatives.

  • Champion and drive our multi-year brand transformation both internally and with clients
  • Local management and activation of Visa's global sponsorship properties in line with terms and conditions of our global sponsorships and activation guidelines
  • Lead client relationships and create value for Visa and Visa’s clients through solutioning delivered via Co-Marketing and Visa’s Value-Added Marketing services.
  • Prospecting by analyzing client needs, ideating, and developing subsequent plans of Marketing activity to address the client’s needs
  • Scoping – agree pricing and scope with client, contracting and documentation
  • Implementation – implement solutions with client and internal teams
  • Reporting –delivery against objectives – customer satisfaction and retention
  • Drive marketing engagements for key clients and partners including developing client marketing strategy, planning, and execution of marketing initiatives and campaigns
  • Communicate annual / quarterly marketing plans to clients with regular updates at formal meetings
  • Implement and embed Visa’s Marketing Capabilities and Value-Added Services for client marketing solutions
  • Work extensively with local country cross-functional teams (i.e., Client Relationship, Merchant Sales and Acquiring, Product, Visa Consulting and Analytics), as well as regional marketing teams, to support client marketing planning development and execution
