About the Role;

Reporting into the Head of UI and Design Systems, as a Senior Manager Design System & Chapter Lead Design Technology, you will lead the development of the Global Design System for Woolworths Group and build out Design Technology capabilities.

Key Priorities for the role

  • Working with the Head of UI and Design Systems to define and evolve the Design System strategy, roadmaps, and growth opportunities
  • As part of the Experience Practice, you will engage XP leadership to the benefit of the Design system and Design Technologist capability
  • Leverage Design System operating principles to enable cross functional teams to work together efficiently and with ease
  • Conduit to bridge gaps between UX/UI & development and broader stakeholder groups
  • Business advocate for Design Technology capability to ensure we create educational awareness around this unique discipline and the business benefits to embedding and expanding their influence in the organisation
  • Building capability to enhance Design Technology in line with the industry best practices and help to embed this capability within Digital Experience innovation and excellence at WooliesX
  • Develop our team and grow future capabilities by creating a career framework and capability development syllabus with DT's & Front-end chapters
  • Break down complex solutions to enable delivery via multidisciplinary teams
  • Assess value, develop initiatives, and prioritise stories, epics, and themes to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value
  • Foster the sense of one goal, one tribe, work with a broad range of stakeholders on a daily basis including but not limited to Product Managers, tech teams, marketing, agencies, brand, designers, business customers from across the Woolworths Group
  • Identify and leverage opportunities for Practice, Chapter and Tribe members to adopt and contribute to the Design System
  • Find opportunities to resolve business or customer pain points or capitalise on opportunities where they exist within the existing timeframe and resourcing constraints
  • Be an advocate for the Design System with channel teams and generate interest and excitement
  • Support Agile processes and delivery
  • Create a test & learn environment
