Team Summary

Visa Innovation is a global team that drives Visa’s innovation agenda and support Visa’s clients and partners in designing and accelerating new digital solutions that advance the future of commerce. Visa runs innovation centers in various regional headquarters, and this position is for Visa Innovation Center in Singapore which covers all major markets in Asia Pacific including Australia, Singapore, Japan, China, India, Indonesia, and Thailand amongst others. What a Manager, Client Engagement does at Visa:

The role holder will drive net new growth for Visa and partners by designing new solutions that leverage Visa’s network of network strategy. This role provides the opportunity to lead different types of client engagements – discoveries, co-creations and new product development sprints as well as coach in-market product team-members on human-centered design based product development approach .

This role would ideally suit someone who is enjoys working in a small team of humble and talented people, solving complex problems in a fast-paced environment.

The role holder will be part of a high performing team that brings a structured solutioning approach, storytelling abilities, agile and digital first mindset to clients, partners and the Visa organization.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Lead client engagements (discovery, co-creations and product development sprints) by defining and validating market opportunities and fleshing out potential solutions with inputs from internal SMEs, clients and partners. The responsibilities will include
  • Defining project scope and approach, ensuring alignment with client and Visa objectives
  • Designing and delivering qualitative (e.g. ethnographic study) and quantitative research to understand user needs and market landscape
  • Structuring client workshops to design a holistic solution with a cross-functional team of designers, product managers, solution architects and marketers from both Visa and client side.
  • Work closely with Internal and external product and partner teams to ensure alignment on scope, critical path and operational risks, and ensure transparent communication
  • Facilitating large and diverse client teams (8-15 participants) by providing clear vision, direction and guidance.
  • Ensuring top-quality client deliverables which include the value proposition, UI/UX, product roadmap, product protoype, go-to-market strategy, commercials and solution architecture
  • Coach and upskill in-market Product teams on using human-centered design based product development approach and support market-led product solutioning sprints.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office two days a week, Tuesdays and Wednesdays with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% of the time based on business needs.


What you will need:

• Strong understanding of trends and themes in payments and commerce. Futurist outlook and passion for technology innovation. Understanding of Visa business and organization strongly preferred

• 8+ years of work experience in payments, new product design, strategy or innovation consulting

• Experience in translating ambiguous client requirements into meaningful project scope and structuring the right project approach to get to the desired outputs

• Proven experience in managing complex, cross-functional projects, with the agility and influential skills to work collaboratively with external and internal stakeholders across markets and functions

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, knowledge of other Asian languages a plus

• Minimum of Bachelor’s degree, MBA or Master Degree highly desirable

• Comfortable interacting, interviewing and iterating with people through exploration of new concept, prototyping (low and high) and testing

• Demonstrated capabilities in client engagement at C-level – communication, presence, and thought leadership, with strong experience in designing and facilitating workshops based on human-centered design principles
