Job Description
The Manager, Small Business Acceptance, is part of the Global Merchant Sales & Acquiring Organization(GMS&A) and will work in collaboration with the regional teams and cross functional partners to deploy a scalable, consistent, and long-term approach to supporting small businesses through impact-led programs and partnerships globally. The Manager will be a key contributor to the success of Visa’s small merchant strategy. This position will be an integral member of the strategy development and execution team. This position will oversee strategic initiative management, coordination and performance measurement working across regions and global functional stakeholder groups. This includes deploying and scaling partnerships and commercial programs, strategic initiative management and support to GTM of low-cost acceptance solutions all targeted towards serving the small business segment through our partnerships. This role will also help provide insights on market trends and developing strategic recommendations to help drive profitable growth for both Visa and clients. This role will partner closely with internal and external partners, therefore, the ideal candidate will display strong collaboration and influencing skills to drive results in a matrix environment Essential Functions Work with GMS&A colleagues to develop and deploy a fit-for-purpose global small merchant strategy, leveraging experiences across markets and functional teams Coordinate our Go to Market approach to drive scale across the regions acting as the PMO to ensure accurate and strategic management of the key projects, focused on implementation and execution Collaborate with cross-functional teams to measure and drive the success of SMB initiatives against plan to ensure achievement of strategic goals Aide the development of commercial deal structures for distribution partners (acquirers, payfacs, ISVs & other tech partners) which includes new commercial programs to accelerate time to market Work with stakeholders within the Visa ecosystem to develop the business case to support the build/roadmap prioritization of new Small Business product & platform enhancements Maintain effective communication and relationships with a variety of global constituents throughout a highly matrixed organizational structure This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office two days a week, Tuesdays and Wednesdays with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications
- 8 years of professional experience with a Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum 5 years in payments, merchant businesses or fintech ideally with experience in strategy, commercial or solutioning roles
- Good understanding of payments products and solutions across the board, at feature level and/or a good understanding of businesses in the payments ecosystem
- Strong communication, quantitative and project management skills
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams to understand/prioritize required capabilities and advance plans
- An innovation mindset, driven by an understanding of merchants and acquirers, consumer centric solutioning and understanding of technology
- Ability to quickly assess an opportunity's potential, leveraging fact-based analyses and industry experience
- Graduate degree(s) a plus
