Summary
The Strategic Sourcing Manager is responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement process including category management, sourcing, negotiation, contracting and supplier performance management primarily for markets in Asia Pacific (APAC) excluding India. Categories supported may include products and/or services such as Technology Products and Services, Third Party Labor, Enterprise Services, Market Data & Related Services and Business Products and Services.
This role serves as a sourcing subject matter expert, partnering with business leaders to optimize financial and operational benefits as well as working with risk managers to mitigate the risks associated with third-party relationships. In addition, this position will be required to participate in the develop and execution of global category strategies within its assigned category(ies).
The Strategic Sourcing Manager will work with suppliers to ensure the company secures the best price possible, while reducing incidental and extraneous cost, all while providing maximum support and value to internal stakeholders.
What you will be doing
- Leads and manages sourcing engagements with cross-functional internal teams, including needs analysis, market analysis, competitive intelligences, RFI and RFP development, cost and proposal analysis, deal structuring, contract negotiation, and implementation development
- In partnership with business leaders, develops short and long term sourcing category strategies, and executes multiple, medium to high risk and complex projects concurrently
- Collaborate with global category leads and ensure alignment to overall category strategies
- Facilitates development of relationships with vendors/suppliers and maintains relationships for long-term contracts
- Analyzes key supply markets and establish relationships with leading partners
- Periodically participates in category reviews
- Deliver a superior customer experience to internal clients
- Establishes systems and procedures to ensure and enhance overall quality
- Establishes requirements for suppliers to achieve process and quality standards
- Reviews, analyzes, and monitors supplier contract performance and compliance
- Negotiates and coordinates additions, deletions, and modifications to agreements
- Develops and maintains vendor relationships including tracking and analysis of vendor spend and performance
- Maintains solutions to ensure purpose and functionality of suppliers closely aligns with business procedures, directions, and strategies
- Manages the selection process to evaluate products based on user requirements, makes recommendations, and ensures purchases are in alignment with current standards and strategy
- May train, develop, and monitor lower level staff
- May manage staff or line of business
- Other related duties assigned as needed
What you bring
- Knowledge of strategic sourcing, contract negotiation and management, supplier performance and relationship management, and category management
- Knowledge of relevant regional supply markets
- Understanding of business, financial, and economic ramifications of various procurement actions
- Track record of successfully achieving savings targets, negotiating deals, and delivering good customer service
- Ability to develop strong working relationships with internal clients and suppliers
- Knowledge of project management methods and techniques
- Good working knowledge of legal and contracting requirements
- Ability to understand and analyze financial data to support source selection decisions
- Proficiency in making projections of future expenses based on analysis of cost effectiveness of past expenditures
Additional requirements:
- 5-7 years of strategic sourcing, or relevant experience with experience in accountable category areas
- Understanding of key contracting concepts and legal terms
- Working knowledge of accounting principles, financial modeling, and business case development, evaluation, and presentation
- Good business savvy and commercial negotiation skills
- Strong third-party negotiation strategy formulation and execution
- Supplier / third-party management and development
- Solid organizational and project management skills
- Process driven with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
