A little bit about the function you will be a part of 

The Risk Management team is responsible for developing the risk frameworks to allow Tyro to take conscious exposures to credit, market, operational and compliance risks within a Board-approved appetite. The Risk Management team ensures that Tyro has appropriate strategies and frameworks in place to assess, manage and report on these key risk areas.

The Compliance team is a key part of the overall Risk Management function. Compliance is responsible for the provision of appropriate compliance advice, monitoring and training to allow our business partners to undertake their activities, transactions and processes in accordance with the Compliance Risk Management framework.

The Compliance team supports and work cooperatively with all of Tyro’s business units to assist in ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, industry codes and organisational requirements. The role will also contribute to the implementation and improvement of Tyro’s Compliance Risk Management Framework, including effective monitoring and reporting.

Your accountabilities

As Compliance Manager, you will be accountable for providing dedicated business facing second line compliance support to Tyro’s business units. 

What you'll be doing

  • Execute and maintain the compliance monitoring and reporting program including completion of compliance monitoring to agreed schedules
  • Evaluate and advise on compliance issues in relation to product/process initiatives and reviews
  • Contribute to the design, implementation and on-going improvement of Compliance manuals and policies
  • Contribute to the development of compliance learning across business units

What you bring to the team

  • 5+ years experience in banking or financial services
  • 3+ years advisory experience in a Compliance function working within a regulated market or at a regulator   
  • Experience and understanding of business banking products, the competitive environment and the banking industry
  • Experience in building and maintaining relationships across the business to drive product development and growth
