Get to know our Team:

  • As a leader of Payments in the Philippines (PH), the role’s mandate will be to drive cashless payment adoption, revenue, and profitability, with the ambition to lead GrabPay to become the leading e-wallet in PH, by working with in-country and cross-functional teams to develop a hyper-local strategy and go-to-market plans 
  • The team focuses on leveraging OneGrab assets and build strong partnerships with external and internal stakeholders to drive consumer engagement, deliver profitable growth while bringing positive impact to the communities

Get to know the Role:

Leveraging on strong domain knowledge and experience, this role fronts payments for Grab in PH, partnering market-leading partners such as MasterCard, BDO, SM Group, governmental agencies in driving the cash to cashless agenda in PH.

The day-to-day activities:

  • Revenue and P&L Ownership
  • Drive P&L/ revenue mode to hit targets, including identifying/ optimizing key revenue levers, and establish pricing and promotions
  • The Influence product roadmap for Payments, to set up necessary revenue levers to drive excellence in the payments space for Grab
  • Internal Stakeholder Management
  • Partner closely with internal teams (product, other financial services, rewards, marketing, legal/ compliance, sales, customer experience, technology, engineering, analytics) and all key stakeholders within PH (e.g. government agencies, bank/ wallet partners, schemes, payment gateways, POS partners, online/ offline merchants to drive win-win outcomes for OneGrab
  • External Partner Management
  • Strengthen partnership engagement across the region to accelerate GrabPay’s growth, with key market/industry players including schemes, strategic merchants, regulatory entities, and technology providers to build and enhance program value propositions and customer engagement
  • Opportunity Assessment
  • Define business needs, potential opportunities, and new revenue streams with measures of success
  • Proactively engage with industry, financial institutions, wallet partners as well as scheme partners to identify growth opportunities and emerging customer needs to scale Grab’s payment ecosystem for GrabPay
  • Business Analytics Tracking
  • Closely track business metrics and analytics, and work with all internal and external stakeholders to identify and resolve issues
  • People Management
  • Lead, coach, mentor, and guide a team of in-country sales/ ops/ BD and rewards talent, with a customer-centric focus, ensuring alignment with Grab values and driving team engagement

The must-haves:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred
  • 8-10 years of payments industry experience (wallet/ B2C preferred) with a minimum of 6 years of capacity leading high performing teams
  • Experience working in a startup fintech 
  • Experience running a business with full P&L responsibility
  • Strategic thinking and ability to develop coherent business plans
  • Well-developed communication and presentation skills to interact with a broad range of audiences 
  • Excellent in advanced commercial negotiations
  • Strong leader who displays integrity and humility
  • People skills & attributes:
  • Interpersonal skills to effectively network within the company across verticals and functions
  • Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills to manage both internal and external stakeholders
  • Committed and highly collaborative leader who can coach/ mentor their team while successfully establishing a healthy working culture based on Grab principles
  • Effectively manage and motivate a team to focus on the overall strategic roadmap, achieve near-term business KPIs, and ensure program success across markets
  • Self-driven and highly motivated individual with the ability to perform under pressure in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
