Job Description
You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our infrastructure and deployment pipelines in an AWS environment. Your objective will be to automate the deployment, scaling, and monitoring of our applications and infrastructure and identify and resolve performance, scalability, and security issues. You will work closely with our software engineers to design and implement efficient and secure application architectures optimised for AWS. Your goal will be to continuously improve the reliability, security, and performance of our systems in AWS and stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in DevOps. Key Selection Criteria
- Design, develop, and maintain Payright's infrastructure and deployment pipelines in an AWS environment.
- Collaborate with software engineers to design and implement efficient and secure application architectures that are optimised for AWS.
- Automate the deployment, scaling, and monitoring of applications and infrastructure using tools such as CircleCI, Cloudwatch, Laceworks, ECS, EC2, Load balancers.
- Identify and resolve performance, scalability, and security issues in AWS-based systems.
- Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions in AWS.
- Work with cross-functional teams to continuously improve our systems’ reliability, security, and performance in AWS.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in AWS and apply them to Payright's environment.
Qualifications
You’re comfortable working at pace in an agile environment. Change is constant here so we’re always looking for self-starters who can get roll up their sleeves and crack on! To ensure your success in the role we do have a few key requirements so read on and see if any of these align with your skills and experience:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in DevOps or a related field with a strong focus on AWS.
- Strong understanding of software development principles and methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, and VPC.
- Experience with containerisation and container orchestration (Docker).
- Familiarity with configuration management tools - AWS ops work
- Experience with Application and infrastructure monitoring and logging tools. Sentry, Logrocket, Cloudwatch, Lacework
- Knowledge of scripting languages (Bash, PowerShell).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
