As an Engineering Manager you will support bringing this vision into reality. As a technical team leader, you will work collaboratively with our product, operational, commercial and wider teams to operate and evolve Zepto’s product offering.
You will be responsible for software product delivery, people leadership of technical teams and operating technical systems. You will also play a key role in maintaining and enhancing the technical culture of excellence which prides itself on taking ownership and responsibility, and empowering stakeholders across the business.
Working in a scale-up, means you get the opportunity to flex your skills in a variety of ways. We are agile and always willing to roll up our sleeves to get things done. You can, however, expect your day to day to be involved in the following:
- Lead, coach, mentor and develop your team members to improve their technical, analytical and collaboration skills
- Establish and maintain great stakeholder relationships with a key focus on collaboration and aligning to the wider org goals
- Passionate about enabling others to do their best work and confident in aligning performance and expectations as required
- Promote employee engagement and contribute to improving the employee experience
- Collaborate with the product team to build and maintain roadmaps of initiatives and track progress
- Manage stakeholder expectations of delivery timelines, efforts and outcomes
- Take complex technical issues and build a strategy to drive alignment with incremental outcome delivery and focus on fast feedback and automation
- Ensure the continuous operation of the APIs and related properties your team is responsible for
- Contribute to company wide technical discussions and initiatives around security and technical risks
About you:
You will have substantial experience in leading software teams with high engagement and people practices. Your communication and stakeholder management skills are strong and you are capable of conceptualising and explaining highly technical concepts to a range of stakeholders.
You are known for your approach to leadership and you have an excellent approach to matching work and people to ultimately get the best out of the team and the best result for the organisation. You enjoy coaching and mentoring people and you have a genuinely personal approach to providing constructive feedback and offer support for any development areas for your team.
You have excellent planning skills, you are naturally capable of seeing dependencies and driving others to deliver. You are confident in making hard decisions and proven experience with resource allocation. You maintain great relationships, you are self motivated and thrive on engaging others and delivering results.
