Enterprise Risk and Compliance is looking to continue to evolve its best-in-class risk and compliance technology program in the areas of transaction monitoring, screening, reporting and overall risk management. This is in alignment with Western Union’s work to be a dynamic player in the financial services industry and expand its product offerings, channels, and partnerships. Additionally, regulators are actively reviewing how Western Union is integrating technology and innovation into Western Union’s Financial Crimes risk mitigation and compliance programs.
Role Responsibilities
- Responsible for overseeing the strategy for how Enterprise Risk and Compliance looks to evaluate and plan its roadmaps for integrating technology in the right places to maintain a best-in-class program.
- Explain and defend the approach taken to a multitude of third parties, including partner banks and regulators.
- Maintaining strong relationships with the Company technology partners while planning for future needs with changing product offerings and an expanded customer base.
- Prioritization of the development and implementation of Enterprise Risk and Compliance technology initiatives
- Lead with both attention to detail as well as an ability to synthesize and implement global requirements and best practices while maintaining a global mindset with proper risk evaluation.
- Develop and manage internal relationships that foster strategies and tactics and to develop “buy-in” through his/her unquestioned credibility, knowledge, and leadership.
- Lead a team of Enterprise Risk and Compliance professions that will span many global activities across multiple business lines including money transfer, bill-pay, account integration, banking, stored value, and wallet product offerings.
Role Requirements
- Ten plus years of relevant experience in complex financial services/payment services/technology services organizations with multiple financial products, or a regulatory agency or law firm involving payment services compliance issues relating to anti-money laundering, Bank Secrecy Act, and related laws/regulations.
- Require minimum of five to seven years’ experience in a management/supervisory position with multiple direct reports.
- Bachelor's degree required; Graduate degree preferred.
- Ability to advise and translate risk and compliance policy and procedures into technical design.
- Experience with risk and compliance frameworks, best practices, and other risk management technology mechanisms within a financial company.
- Understanding of retail/commercial financial products/services as well as banking and payments integration and flows.
- Strong technical experience with multiple technologies and experience with disparate data sources.
- Ability to produce reports and management information as well as analyze business dashboards and information.
- Strong understanding of governance, risk management and control issues related to business areas across product offerings and global prioritization.
- Strong knowledge of industry initiatives and professional best practice
- Understanding of anti-money laundering regulations within the banking/financial services industry in multiple jurisdictions.
- Proven track record of complex problem solving and decision-making ability.

Salary
The on-target earnings range is $340,000 - $400,000 per year, which includes a base salary, short-term and long-term incentives that align with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary based on candidates' qualifications, skills, and competencies.
