Global Network Services (GNS) is the organization responsible for driving scale and coverage for American Express across the globe. The Global Product and Marketing team in GNS is responsible for igniting partner growth and expanding our brand relevance globally by harnessing the strengths of American Express to deliver innovative and impactful product and marketing solutions for partners.
The Director of Product Marketing & Partner Training will be responsible for 1) driving the development and execution of product marketing strategies for priority payment products and capabilities, and 2) overseeing the strategy and development of impactful messaging, marketing resources and training for our Network Partners (Issuers and Acquirers).
The ideal candidate is a tenured, intellectually curious, and forward-thinking product marketer, who is adept at building marketing and training strategies, and connecting the dots across teams. Essential to this role is a passion for learning new products and technologies, defining compelling value propositions and messaging, resourcefulness to deliver on goals, agility, a strong work ethic and demonstrated personal excellence.
How will you make an impact in this role?
- Lead, develop, and inspire a team of 4 product marketing and training professionals.
- Define what winning looks like by working with cross-functional leaders and stakeholders across the enterprise to develop and deliver the product marketing strategy for a variety of payment products and capabilities
- Collaborate with the product management, field teams, business development, global brand team, legal and others to create differentiated product value propositions, positioning, and messaging, and oversee the creation of high-quality marketing and sales tools to delight our customers
- Lead with an external perspective by staying abreast of the latest trends in the payments industry and competitor messaging and marketing techniques
- Lead the strategy for and development of innovative, integrated learning solutions by managing key stakeholder relationships to identify training needs and priorities.
Qualifications:
- B2B product marketing experience - 10+ years preferred
- A track record of success leading and motivating teams
- An enthusiastic and highly motivated self-starter, who is comfortable with turning ideas into action, and excited about new payment technologies
- Awareness of latest B2B marketing trends and techniques and tactics
- Ability to form and influence relationships across a matrix environment to successfully gain buy in and drive strategy and projects forward
- Excellent communication and influencing skills
- Ability and desire to learn quickly; flexibility to adjust and navigate a variety of situations, individuals & groups; ability to persevere in the face of obstacles and challenges
- Experience working with and managing third parties and agencies
Education:
- Bachelor’s or Masters degree preferred.
Location:
- Greater NYC Metro Area, or Sunrise Florida operating under a hybrid-work arrangement
Salary Range: $130,000.00 to $205,000.00 annually + bonus + equity (if applicable) + benefits
