The role:
Our company is seeking a Payments Regulatory Lawyer to Identify legal and regulatory issues across the ecosystem to help us continue to drive innovation and accelerate growth. This person will provide legal advice to Volt from a UK and international standpoint, with focus on numerous sectors across low and high risk.
You’ll be a strategic advisor across the business across functions such as Commercial, Compliance and Marketing amongst others whilst playing a pivotal role in our new market expansion.
Requirements
What you’ll do:
- Partner closely with product, engineering and business teams worldwide, to advise on regulations affecting our business, including payments, consumer protection and data privacy.
- You’ll advise on and manage relationships with Volt’s key UK and European regulators (including the FCA and the KNF).
- You’ll have an up-to-date knowledge on laws and regulations dealing with financial services and other relevant areas.
- Key to the role will be helping drive Volt’s strategy in response to changing regulatory environments, and provide training to business teams on relevant regulatory topics.
- Work closely with other members of Volt’s Legal Team to support its global legal and regulatory structure, strategic partnerships and client agreements.
- You’ll help build scalable and effective processes for legal review and launch of new products and services.
- Help launch new products & services and build a scalable process for legal review.What we’d like to see:
- You have 3-6 years of experience as a qualified lawyer in an in-house legal team and tier one private practice.
- You have familiarity with UK or EU payments and financial services laws and regulations (such as the Payment Services Directive).
- You’re solutions-oriented. Any prior experience working on product development at fast moving technology companies is valued.
- Exceptional verbal and interpersonal communication skills, able to build lasting relationships with colleagues and can simplify legal concepts when communicating them
